Thank you to everyone for a great Easter event!
The children had such fun and the smiles were definitely contagious! Words cannot express how appreciative the Easter Egg Hunt Committee is to this community for all of their assistance, donations, volunteering and kind words!
Such encouragement, such kindness, such compassion! Our Grand Announcer, Frank Hashorva is a jewel. A Rancho Murieta Kiwanian, with a history of much success, Mr. Frank will be the voice that all will hear this year at the event!

Born in Albania, Mr. Frank here, came with his parents to the U.S. when he was 2! With two BS Degrees and one Masters, he has gone on to much acclaim! His first job was as a candy caddy at a salt water taffy company on the Boardwalk in Ocean City, New Jersey! He developed his selling and persuasive talent from that 1st job and he never looked back!
Frank’s full-time profession (Education) – was a professional referee (with an induction into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame). But here is something that you MAY NOT KNOW!
For 12 years, he was the “Grand Maitre’D at the Downing-town Inn, one of the largest resorts in the world! He developed the ability to make lobsters do whatever he wanted! Like What???? Lobsters??? Mr. Frank became a Celebrity! Known as the “Lobster Hypnotist” he appeared on 250 television shows and was featured in 8,000 newspapers! Well . . . . Take a look!
Mr. Frank can make any live lobster:
- Go to sleep (Hypnotize him)
- Stand on his head
- Do a head stand on his nose
- Balance a ping pong ball on his tail
- Pass out Mr. Franks’ business cards to the audience
- Hold two paper umbrellas over his head
- Wake up by making him do a complete somersault
With a celebrity in our midst, a long standing Kiwanian, and love of children, Mr. Frank will carry our event throughout the afternoon. Listen for his announcements, his laughter, his ticket selling techniques!
And ask him about the Lobsters!
Even though the Easter Egg Hunt is a “FREE” event, the Rancho Murieta Kiwanis have expenses – our way to cover our costs for this great event is to offer some items that need to be paid for ~ so here is what we are offering:
- Bake Sale
- BBQ ~ Lunch
- Petting Zoo
- Pony Rides
- Critter Care
- Piglet Pen
- Magic Dragon Magazine’s
All items will require a ticket or tickets for payment – We will have our Ticket Sellers On Hand and all you will need to do is purchase your group of tickets then go and enjoy the festivities.
I simply can’t believe that we are almost there once again! We have a great committee team – all of whom are beginning their foray into the realm of bunnies, eggs, kids, stuffing, candy, food, bake sale goodies, etc. We have so much planned – the brain cells here are already on overload!
The Theme this year is all around the kids! You know, the Kiwanis group does so very much for the children of the community and Elk Grove School District. Whether you are in the public school system, private school or home schooled – the Kiwanis opens their door to all the children. So with that in mind here is a small list of what is in store:
- K-Kids
- Builder’s Club
- Key Clubs
- Petting Zoo
- Critter Care
And so much more! This is just the tip of the iceberg everyone! So stay tuned! Our Sponsors will be going up here on the website, with links to their respective companies, not only will this be your place to see what is happening, what the time frame is, what the ticket sales are – but it will also be a place for the new families to go to – to learn more about their surrounding community and the great region we are in the middle of!
Mark Your Calendars! Saturday, April 23rd, Stonehouse Park . . . .
Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces, their eyes lighting up with joy, the excitement in the air, this is what this event is all about. The entire community comes together to bring the Rancho Murieta Kiwanis sponsored event to our children.
It takes the “Entire” community to pull this off and once again, we are beginning our event process. While it is a bit early, rest assured that there are those behind the scenes that are starting to make their lists, get their groups together and plan!
So stay tuned everyone, we are excited to bring you a great event once again this new year!
