Hunt Line UP Explanation: There are three fields – the different age groups are:
- 2 & Under
- 3 – 5
- 6 and up
The Hunt Line up time: 1;00 p.m.
We realize that families may have more then one age group at the event for the hunt – so we give enough time for the mom or dad to get their child to the next applicable field – by announcing that we need you ready (everyone) at 1:00 – we are making sure that your child will Not miss their time frame.
Likewise – having set times doesn’t work well as watches aren’t synced & if the kids jump start the field event – there is no stopping them! ( I know – this happened to me a couple of times) Working together will help this part of the event to go off smoother.
- The first group (2 & Under) will be started at 1:00 – there will be a field starter (Judy Musgrove) on the field – she will coordinate with the announcer & will start the little ones.
- The field starter moves over to the 2nd field – Approximately 10 minutes later the 3 – 5 group will be started -
- The field starter will move to the last field – approximately 10 minutes after the 3-5 age group goes – the 6 and up will then go too.
The children are excited and antsy – and it is very hard to hold them back – so parents, friends and neighbors we need your help. We will have people on the fields to keep the children from starting early – we just do our very best to make sure that the children get their eggs.
Please note: We have extra eggs set aside so if a little one doesn’t get their eggs – please see me (the field starter) (Judy Musgrove) and I will make sure they get an entire basket of eggs
Your Sheriff’s Department at work! And yes, they are back once again with their laptops, smiles and news.
Saturday, April 7th, 2012 at Stonehouse Park – Noon – 3:30 our Kiwanis Sponsored Easter Egg Hunt will be in full swing! What a round up of activities for the children! These activities will require a ticket or two – let me explain.
This is not a Kiwanis Fundraiser! This is a Kiwanis Sponsored Community Event. We strive for covering the cost of the event activities – Pony Rides, Petting Area, Food, Bake Sale, Cookie Decorating etc. In order to cover the costs, we sell Tickets at the event – Tickets are sold in groups of 10 or 20 – they are $1 per ticket – yes, you can purchase 1 ticket or 5. Our Kiwanis members sell the tickets.
“Your Rancho Murieta Kiwanis is a great organization that does so much for the children of our community. One of which is offering (4) $1,000 scholarships to seniors!
- Where does the money go? The money we take in at this event will go into the Easter Egg Hunt Fund for the next year – we strive to cover our current Easter Egg Hunt expenses and if there is anything left over we keep it there in the Easter Egg Hunt fund for the following year.
- Who sponsors this event? This event is sponsored by your Rancho Murieta Kiwanis Group and the Entire Community! What we know is that those eggs would not get stuffed nor collected if it wasn’t for “YOU” the community!
When you come out to the event and see those “thousands” of eggs on the respective fields thank:
- Rancho Murieta K-Kids
- Rancho Murieta Mom’s Group
- Pat (Meme) and her helpers “Brook Hanson” and Noelynn Olttmans
- Ms. Kristys Daycare
- Melisa Willis Girl Scout Troop
- Dia Utterback and her boy scouts
From the Sheriff’s Department to the SPCA – this community spends a fun filled afternoon mingling, laughing, enjoying the many activities that is provided. Thank you Rancho Murieta Mom’s, Dads, Grandma’s, Grandpa’s, Aunt’s, Uncle’s, Friends and Neighbors! You are awesome!
This event is one of the best events ever – seeing the little one’s face light up – that sparkle in their eye and that huge smile is what this entire event is all about.
It takes the entire community coming together to have this type of event be so successful!
Once again we are collecting those much needed plastic eggs – so please drop off at Plaza Foods – we also need the candy that go into them!
With Master Frank Hashorva manning the mike – (did you know he can do something special with a lobster?) our event will go off without a hitch!

With new chair’s and more people gathering together to create this fantastic event – you will surely have a fun filled afternoon for your youngster to enjoy!
Even though the Easter Egg Hunt is a “FREE” event, the Rancho Murieta Kiwanis have expenses – our way to cover our costs for this great event is to offer some items that need to be paid for ~ so here is what we are offering:
- Bake Sale

- Critter Care
- Piglet Pen
- Magic Dragon Magazine’s
All items will require a ticket or tickets for payment – We will have our Ticket Sellers On Hand and all you will need to do is purchase your group of tickets then go and enjoy the festivities.
I simply can’t believe that we are almost there once again! We have a great committee team – all of whom are beginning their foray into the realm of bunnies, eggs, kids, stuffing, candy, food, bake sale goodies, etc. We have so much planned – the brain cells here are already on overload!
The Theme this year is all around the kids! You know, the Kiwanis group does so very much for the children of the community and Elk Grove School District. Whether you are in the public school system, private school or home schooled – the Kiwanis opens their door to all the children. So with that in mind here is a small list of what is in store:
- K-Kids
- Builder’s Club
- Key Clubs
- Petting Zoo
- Critter Care
And so much more! This is just the tip of the iceberg everyone! So stay tuned! Our Sponsors will be going up here on the website, with links to their respective companies, not only will this be your place to see what is happening, what the time frame is, what the ticket sales are – but it will also be a place for the new families to go to – to learn more about their surrounding community and the great region we are in the middle of!
Mark Your Calendars! Saturday, April 23rd, Stonehouse Park . . . .
Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces, their eyes lighting up with joy, the excitement in the air, this is what this event is all about. The entire community comes together to bring the Rancho Murieta Kiwanis sponsored event to our children.
It takes the “Entire” community to pull this off and once again, we are beginning our event process. While it is a bit early, rest assured that there are those behind the scenes that are starting to make their lists, get their groups together and plan!
So stay tuned everyone, we are excited to bring you a great event once again this new year!
Judy Musgrove, Chair
